Water Sampling Services

To make sure the data obtained from testing is representative of the body of water the samples were taken from, it is critical that sampling is carried out correctly.

At Richmond Water Laboratories, we offer professional water sampling services.

Our field officers are compliant with AS/NZS 5667.1:1998 “Water Quality Sampling” for sampling of microbiological, organic, chemical and biological constituents.

We have the equipment and expertise to take samples and analyse bodies of water such as:

  • Water reservoirs for potable and domestic purposes
  • Water for irrigation and stock
  • Sewage and wastewater treatment plants
  • Bores and leachates
  • Trade wastes
  • River and estuarine environments.

Please contact us to discuss how we can help with your professional sampling needs.

For smaller, private entities, DIY sampling may be a more cost effective approach. Please refer to our water sample handling and preservation guidelines.

Rainwater Tanks

While it makes sense to harvest the clean, purified water which falls out of the sky, there are a number of factors which can compromise the quality of this water. The following fact sheet from the NSW Department of Health may be useful for maintaining rainwater tanks

Water, water every where…

Overflowing tanks are often a welcome sight to those who rely on rainwater for their domestic use, especially as it often means no more timed showers! While extra flushing may improve water quality, it is still advisable to have drinking water tested on a regular basis.
